My baskets are usually made from handmade paper and embellished with silk, sticks, and other materials. They are small, normally no more than a couple of inches high. Traditional baskets were made to hold objects; mine hold light, space and thoughts.
I also make small sculptural forms from handmade paper and/or other materials. They are in the form of books, shrines or figures, as in my Japanese workmen series.
Recently, I have been writing children’s stories based on ideas generated by my grandchildren. Illustrated with my drawings and/or photographs, some are in verse and some in prose. (Printed copies of my books can be ordered from Blurb.com.)
