Linda Hendler is a graduate of California College of Arts and Crafts in Oakland, California.  She taught at this college and at the University of California at Berkeley where she also did graduate work.  Linda’s original work was in oil and acrylic but she prefers to work in watercolor now. 

Linda’s primary interest is color.  Her work is composed of layer upon layer of brilliant color transparently applied until jewel like tones are achieved.  The subject matter is usually somewhat abstract and can be anything from her pets, to landscapes or seascapes, to the wildlife her husband works with in his volunteering efforts on the Central Coast of California.  The Hendlers have traveled extensively and many of Linda’s paintings originated from scenes of exotic places that they have visited on their international travels.

Linda has studied with a variety of artists such as Skip Lawrence, Tom Fong and Tom Lynch.  She has won awards for her paintings from the California State Fair.  She has exhibited her work at the Oakland Museum and is a signature member and award winner from the Pacific Regional Aquarius Show.

Linda Hendler’s paintings are available both in the original watercolor and as fine art prints, both on paper or, on canvas. 

Her works vary in size from 12” x 12” to 30” x 40”.
